In hygienic processing industries like pharmaceutical manufacturing, food & beverage production, and biotechnology, flow measurement is critical to batch consistency, dosing precision, and compliance. However, traditional flanged flowmeters often present a challenge: dead legs that trap bacteria and complex disassembly processes that prolong downtime during routine cleaning.
How can process engineers maintain high-precision fluid measurement while guaranteeing strict 3A sanitary compliance and rapid turnaround times?
The answer lies in specialized sanitary clamp-type electromagnetic flowmeters. In this product spotlight, we explore how the PANGU PMF-K Series resolves common hygienic flow measurement bottlenecks while delivering reliable performance in demanding CIP/SIP environments.
A sanitary electromagnetic flowmeter (also known as a hygienic mag meter or tri-clamp magnetic flowmeter) operates on Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction. It measures the flow rate of conductive liquids ≥30um/cm without any moving or obstructing parts inside the pipe.
Unlike industrial flanged mag meters, a hygienic mag meter features a polished stainless steel exterior, quick-install clamp connections (ISO 2852 / DIN 32676), and FDA/3A-compliant liner materials. This design prevents bacterial growth, ensures zero fluid entrapment, and allows engineers to dismount the unit effortlessly for inspection or manual cleaning.
Standard pipeline connections can leave tiny gaps where fluid accumulates, leading to microbial proliferation. The PMF-K series features a full stainless steel enclosure with smooth internal surface finishing that meets international 3A sanitary requirements.
Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilization-in-Place (SIP) routines are vital in hygienic process lines. Thanks to its quick-release clamp adapter design, the PMF-K can be installed or removed in minutes without specialized tools, dramatically reducing maintenance overhead.
Frequent hot-alkali CIP flushes and steam sterilization often cause standard liners to deform or collapse under negative pressure. The PMF-K offers PFA or F46 liners reinforced with optional stainless steel mesh, ensuring high structural stability under full vacuum conditions.

The versatility and high measurement accuracy of the PANGU PMF-K Series make it the ideal choice across several cleanroom and food-grade industries:
With over 20 years of dedicated research, development, and manufacturing experience in electromagnetic flow metering, Hangzhou PANGU Automation System Co., Ltd. is committed to making "Made in China" a synonym for excellent quality.
Yes. For vacuum or negative pressure applications, we recommend choosing PFA or F46 liners with reinforced stainless steel mesh (Option F21 or F31 in our model code). This design prevents the liner from peeling or collapsing under vacuum conditions during high-temperature SIP processes.
While 316L stainless steel electrodes are standard for most food and beverage applications, Hastelloy C (HC) or Titanium (Ti) electrodes are available for saline solutions, acidic juices, or aggressive cleaning agents.
For accurate flow measurement, we recommend selecting a meter size where the medium velocity falls between 1 m/s and 5 m/s under normal working conditions.
