A process for preparing high-purity ferrous sulfate using slag, comprising: subjecting pyrite slag to an integrated reaction of acid dissolution and reduction with ultrafine pyrite and industrial sulfuric acid to obtain ferrous sulfate slurry, dissolving and filtering the slurry to obtain a ferrous sulfate solution, concentrating, cooling, crystallizing, and centrifuging the ferrous sulfate solution to obtain a high-purity ferrous sulfate product, ferrous sulfate heptahydrate crystals, which can be directly used in the preparation of high-grade iron oxide series pigments. Most of the crystallization mother liquor is removed from the reactor to recover the effective ingredients such as free sulfuric acid, ferrous sulfate, and ferrous sulfate. The ferrous sulfate produced by the present invention has a purity greater than 99.0%, a low consumption of sulfuric acid, and a high purity of the ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, which can be directly used in the preparation of iron oxide series pigments, thereby simplifying the process of preparing iron oxide series pigments using ferrous sulfate.
